Growth seems to come in waves (pun alert!)

Lately I have noticed a lot of emotional, intellectual, and spiritual maturity in my life that hasn’t been there before

I can see it in what is written, the things I think about, what comes up in conversations, the things God reveals in the Bible–recently, I have been catapulted into a different area of existence

Part of this has come as the result of a continued desire to stay close to God, and has come through extreme challenges in my professional life as I have faced some of the most difficult scenarios imaginable

These situations have tested my patience, forgiveness, and my overall character, as my life has been nothing but focused on my current job for a very long time (other than this site of course!), and now it looks like it is coming to an end through no fault of my own, ie: the politics of the startup my company works for have gotten to the point of being completely unbearable

It is a sad thing when something you have worked hard for teeters on the edge of falling apart, but we never know what tomorrow will bring

Proverbs 27:1
Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own

Now that this contract is looking like it is about to end suddenly, with the company I work for being owed over $550k in past due bills, this next chapter of my life may be more uncertain than I would like, but I am prepared for anything as God is with me

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose

And, life isn’t so bad, I spent Friday evening with my best friend on the beach in Marina Del Rey, talking about life and watching the sun go down over the ocean

God’s glory is overwhelming when we stop and enjoy it, nothing else can put life in the same perspective as it is simple, powerful, and overwhelmingly beautiful

Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse
